There are many wonderful books about the ecology of WI lakes, shoreline and native plantings and the history of Pine Lake. Far and away the Doug Tallamy books will change the way you think about trees and plants in the landscape. Any of the William Stark books are wonderful introductions to the early days of the lake and lake life.
